It's just mind blowing how stupid people can be.

You're right, Karleigh; it's truly surprising how passionately people can vote in ways that go against their own best interests. But let's not forget that if we were in their shoes—if we had lived the same life, with the same upbringing, social circles, and education—we'd probably make the same choices. Many Trump voters aren't monsters, but rather scared and misinformed individuals. While racism and other forms of oppression and violence must be clearly rejected, we can't stop trying to reach Trump's voting constituency, hoping that the truth will resonate with at least some of them.

I wouldn’t use the word ‘stupid’; rather, I’d say uninformed. People have gotten lazy and don’t do their research.

Thanks, Debbie. Feel free to share with people in your circle who you think might benefit from these insights. I'm trying to get this beyond the Substack bubble. Have a lovely day :)

I can't believe stupid people fell for these lowlife criminals into voting for them when the other half told them it was a lie and not to fall for it.

Now, our country is upside-down and the people who believe in democracy is fighting to get it back but, the other side still in disbelief they were lied to. VOTE them out GODDAMMIT and help us save our country.

I agree that they are indeed being manipulated. If you observed Trump rallies that have been ongoing for nearly a decade, they exhibit characteristics of textbook brainwashing techniques.

In my own family, I have witnessed the disconnect. My own brothers tell me there is nothing wrong... and now, I fully comprehend how good people throughout history managed to endure while thrown into the jaws of lions. If this is what they fervently label as “woke,” I would rather remain here, my eyes wide open, than broken in a blind echo chamber.

Rather, supremely stupid, intellectually lazy and willfully ignorant would sum the matter up well. We live in the Age of Information, and while disinformation abounds, those who are persistent in their attempts to discern the truth of a given issue or about a particular person will invariably be rewarded for their efforts. Unfortunately, most seem to prefer whatever preconceived notion or prejudice they may harbor in the redoubt that is their granite-like head, rarely considering the possibility that their “facts” are in truth fallacious and thus their thought process erroneous.

I voted as an independent as a teenager because, even at that age, the distortions and lies of mainstream politicians were heir apparent to me.

One would do well to keep in mind that an average IQ score is 100, while the average IQ of Americans as a whole apparently is 90, which explains much that occurs in our country of poorly-educated, unreflective simpletons.

…it didn’t happened overnight, for decades the trick was to convince american liberals they still live in a democracy,

while led them to the point of no return by pulling the rug under their feet, but they still don’t fucking get it
